I used to try to fight against the characterization that LGF was a “right wing” blog. Eventually, I gave up because it was pointless; I realized they were going to put me in that pigeonhole no matter what I wrote.

Now a lot of people seem to feel betrayed and angry because they made assumptions about my views on issues such as creationism, gay rights, abortion, etc. etc.

I tried to tell them, but they just didn’t want to listen.

I can only be honest about my opinions. If that means I need to be excommunicated from the “right wing,” I’m fine with that.

Because I never joined.

It appears that the LGF blog has become a den of Christian bigots. LGF posts and comments seem to endorse gay marriage/abortion rights while protecting President Obama from any Republican criticism regarding his policies, views, or gaffes.

Taking on militant Islam when it was not politically correct propelled LGF in popularity. Now it appears that it was due to all the ‘paranoid bigots’ out there feasting on classical liberalism. I just throw up in my mouth a little at that delusion.

Another point: I haven’t changed my position against Islamic fascism one bit. I still believe it’s a threat to Western civilization, profoundly anti-democratic, and needs to be fought.

However, I have learned (to my dismay) that many of the people who portray themselves as “anti-jihad” are simply paranoid bigots, and/or religious fanatics with hidden motives, who have hitched a ride on the justifiable outrage most of us felt after the 9/11 attacks.

My objections to radical Islam are based on my commitment to classical liberalism, and the values of the Enlightenment.

And my love for the music of Frank Zappa.

Surely, people can disagree with the lockstep ideology at LGF? Uh, that would be a no as evidenced by the plethora of old members being banned.

Oh, and traffic appears to be dropping.

First, Obama announced the closing of Gitmo. Next, Obama banned the word ‘enemy combatants’. Then, ‘war on terrorism’ got the axe.

The latest outrage is the very word ‘terrorism’ has been banned by the Obama administration and replaced by the phrase ‘man caused disasters’. I kid you not.

SPIEGEL: ‘Madame Secretary, in your first testimony to the US Congress as Homeland Security Secretary you never mentioned the word “terrorism.” Does Islamist terrorism suddenly no longer pose a threat to your country?’

Janet Napolitano, President Obama’s new Homeland Security Secretary: ‘Of course it does. I presume there is always a threat from terrorism. In my speech, although I did not use the word “terrorism,” I referred to “man-caused” disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.’

Obviously, Obama plans on taking the United States back to a pre 9/11 mentality in dealing with the threat of Islamic terrorism. When one can’t even use the word ‘terrorism’ to describe terrorist incidents, something is seriously wrong.

70% of Russia’s MiG-29 fighters unable to fly – experts

MOSCOW, February 6 2009 – At least 200 MiG-29 Fulcrum fighters, or 70% of the total in service with the Russian Air Force, are too old to take to the skies, a Russian business daily said on Friday citing military experts.

Following a MiG-29 crash in East Siberia last December, the Defense Ministry admitted for the first time that Russia’s MiG-29 fleet was mostly outdated and not capable of performing combat duties.

The crash was the second in East Siberia involving a MiG-29 fighter in less than two months. In mid-October, a MiG-29 fighter crashed 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the Domna airfield during a regular training flight. The pilot ejected safely.

Lt. Gen. Sergei Bainetov said on Wednesday that all aircraft of this type were thoroughly inspected after the crash and the probe revealed “traces of corrosion on the tail unit of some of the planes.”

Only 30% of the MiG-29s were allowed to resume flights after a month-long suspension.

The Kommersant daily said in an article on Friday that experts believe the aircraft, which was developed in the 1970s and supplied to the Air Force between 1983 and 1993, has become obsolete and needs to be removed from active service.

In the past, the Russian Air Force rejected radical modernization of MiG-29s, choosing the upgrade of Su-27 Flanker and MiG-31 Foxhound interceptors.

The production of new MiG-29s at an assembly plant near Moscow was stopped a long time ago, and in the 1990s Russia built the aircraft mainly for exports from assembly kits inherited from the Soviet Union, Kommersant said.

Even though Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport has promised the Defense Ministry that it will deliver in the near future 34 MiG-29SMTs, rejected by Algeria, to the Russian Air Force, these aircraft will not be able to replace 281 MiG-29 fighters currently in service.

Russia’s first fifth-generation fighter will make its maiden flight by the end of this year, but it will take at least five years to finally put it in service with the Air Force. Meanwhile, Russia may not be able to operate about a third of its fighter fleet, the paper said.

Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, who is in charge of arms procurement, said on January 20 that Russia’s fifth-generation fighter must be commissioned with the Air Force by 2015.

The New Party was the creation of the quasi-Marxist Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the radical community organisation ACORN. The Communist Party splinter group Committees of Correspondence (CoC) was also involved.

I quote from Chicago DSA’s New Ground of September/October 1995

The political entourage included Alderman Michael Chandler, William Delgado, chief of staff for State Rep Miguel del Valle, and spokespersons for State Sen. Alice Palmer, Sonya Sanchez, chief of staff for State Sen. Jesse Garcia, who is running for State Rep in Garcia’s District; and Barack Obama, chief of staff for State Sen. Alice Palmer. Obama is running for Palmer’s vacant seat…Although ACORN and SEIU Local 880 were the harbingers of the NP there was a strong presence of CoC and DSA (15% DSA)… Four political candidates were “there” seeking NP support.”

Maude Hurd – Longtime ACORN president. Awarded for her work by Boston DSA. ACORN is heavily involved in the Obama campaign.

Manning Marable – A founder of DSA and a leader of CoC. Regarded as a driving force within the New Party. Now an Obama supporter.

Frances Fox Piven – A senior DSA member. Regarded as the brains behind ACORN. Piven is now an endorser of the Progressives for Obama website.

Raphael Pizzaro – New York labour activist and former CPUSA member. An official of both CoC and DSA.

Gloria Steinem – Author and senior DSA member An Obama supporter and volunteer.

Cornel West – Academic and prominent DSA member. West now serves as an advisor to the Obama campaign.

Quentin Young – Chicago doctor, prominent DSA member. Quentin Young is a neighbour, friend and supporter of Barack Obama. he attended the famous 1995 meeting in the home of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn where Barack Obama was introduced by Alice Palmer as the chosen successor to her Illinois State Senate seat.

Carl Davidson, former Chicago CoC National Committee member, New Party activist, associate of Barack Obama and friend of Bill Ayers, now serves as Progressives for Obama webmaster.”

This story from Clearwater, Florida gets added to the other 1st Amendment attacks taking place nationwide against McCain supporters. What is their crime? Simply dare to put out a McCain/Palin campaign sign or sticker upon their car.

This Obama supporter adds the lovely twist of burning an American flag to the hate crime.

The owner of this Lexus believes his McCain/Palin sticker is the reason behind approximately $4,500 worth of damage done to his vehicle. Frank Armstrong was preparing to go for a jog this morning when he noticed his Lexus – adorned with a McCain-Palin sticker – had been vandalized with obscenities and a burned American flag.

Armstrong discovered the damage to his 2006 Lexus about 8:30 a.m. at his Sand Key condominium at 1400 Gulf Blvd. Clearwater police and Armstrong said someone etched obscenities and “KKK” into the paint, burned several areas of the car with cigarettes, set the flag on fire on his hood and may have urinated on the vehicle. Officers and Armstrong think the car was singled out because of its political stickers, including one reading “Nobama.”

“This is definitely a hate crime,” said Armstrong, a 41-year-old physician.

Police estimated damage at $4,500. Police classified the incident as “criminal mischief/hate crime” and said it appeared “to be politically/racially motivated because the victim affixed a bumper sticker supporting the McCain campaign as well as an anti-Obama bumper sticker.”

Stay classy Obama Voters!

The left claims the Sen Obama of Illinois has enough experience to be the President of the United States, yet Gov. Palin of Alaska does not have enough gravitas to be Vice President.

If we examine the historical experience of both Obama and Palin, it is clear that Palin has more experience than Obama.

Logic would dictate that the left has no basis in claiming Obama is ready to serve as President if Palin is not qualified for the lower VP post.

But, don’t bother trying to explain logic to leftists.
