Walter Weaver was a New York Police Department ESU (Emergency Services Unit) officer who was killed during the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City.
On 11 September 2001, he was last seen on the 6th floor trying to save people from the North Tower of the Twin Towers who were trapped in an elevator.
His body was never recovered, however, his back-up Smith & Wesson revolver was recovered from the ashes of the disaster. His family donated the damaged J-Frame snub nose revolver to the NRA museum as a memorial to First Responder’s.
