SW Model 39-2

Question

I am trying to find a value on a 9mm SemiAuto Smith & Wesson Model 39-2. I believe the frame is stainless and the slide nickel plated. The serial # is A698xxx. Those are the only pertinent on it that I found.

I know a couple of you have some very inclusive guides and I would really appreciate your help on this. Thanks!

I have one that I carried off duty in the 80's. I think they are about 500 or so. I won't take less for mine. ok>

"Standard Catalog of Firearms" lists the Model 39 (steel slide, alloy frame) at the following values: NIB - $400, Exc - $350, VG - $250, Good - $200, Fair - $150, Poor - $100.

I agree with your sentiments, Grayfox. I own a few guns that I personally value way over their resale prices.

you are right Surbat6,

But I have seen a few at the gun shows running in the 400 to 500 range. Even if it was only worth 200, it has special meaning to me. When times were tough, my wife sold her horse to get me the model 39-2.
