I've seen sub-gauge adaptors, but I don't really see the benefit. Seems like as shotgun shells get smaller they get more expensive...

Mixing 12 and 20 gauge ammo is a no-no, girlie! Hasn't she seen the video of the guy putting a 20ga shell into a 12ga, it gets stuck, then he loads the 12ga on top of the 20? BOOM!

it allows you to use the ammo you have on hand.

you can compeat in a different class of trap with the gun you are used to using

reduced recoil for those sentive to it.

taking smaller game where 12 ga would be too much.

they have a limited applications, but work well for them.

I don't know about you, but the only ammo I have on hand is the kind that fits into my gun :p

I guess that's convenient if you happen to be at the mercy of someone elses supplies.

There are specialty rounds for that.

There are 12 gauge rounds for all game, but if you're too close with a 12 you're probably still too close with a 20. I've blown many a bird apart with my 20 gauge.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. I could see where something like this would be beneficial in a family situation where ammo is pooled but members use different guns. Or my favorite, the Zombie Apocalypse scenario. Your 12 gauge already washes, dries, and puts away the dishes, why not be able to shoot even more types of ammunition?

rondo, for those of us who have both, 12 and 20. i know not everyone has that.

the reduced recoil rounds still kick more than the 20. i am blessed with wife who shoots with me, but she uses a recoil pad on my AR. with RR 12, a knoxx spcel ops stock, and shooting vest she would shoot about three rounds before calling it quits. with the 20 and the same setup she shot a dozen.

Jared, it is easy to keep 20 out of a 12. just pay attrition to what you are doing.

I know, but there must be four questions about it on the Kansas hunter's safety test.
