Rare AK-47 and AK-74 Magazines

A great photo of some less common and rare AK mags in the USA. They command a premium over regular AK47 magazines. If you find one, just send it to me for safe keeping. cool.gif

Rare Izhmash Green AKM Magazine

post-1-1238788629_thumb.jpg

"This modification was produced on special order - the best USSR frontier guard soldiers were awarded with individual AKMs of green color and individually labeled. Mikhail Kalashnikov would often visit frontier posts and personally hand this special AK as an award to the best guard. The soldier wouldn't take it home though when his draft was over - the gun would be kept at the frontier posts own museum. The label on this modification of AKM reads: "To the Winner of Socialist Labor Contest".

AKRaider has given me permission to post his photos of his AK magazine collection.

This awesome collection is a great resource for all you AK mag collectors to help identify what you own. Here is some feedback from the owner of this collection.

I've been collecting AK mags off and on for about 8 years and very concertedly for the last 3 years...I've got thousands of dollars tied up in the collection...

The rarest and hardest to find were the 30 rd Russian plum waffle in 7.62, all of the Paki mags in both 7.62 and 5.45, the Russian Molot marked 40 rd bakelite in 7.62, the Russian Izzy marked 45 rd bakelite in 5.45, the 30 rd Bulgy ((21)) dark plum in 5.45, the 40 rd steel ribbed Romanian Cugir in 5.45, the Polish 20 rd black poly in 5.56, all of the type 63 20 rd Chicoms, the 4 color variations of the 30 rd Bulgy experimental waffles in 7.62...

I'm expecting to take possession of a 30 rd Egyptian steel waffle in 7.62 in about another week or so, the deal on this one mag has been in the making since last November...also I should be receiving a 30 rd black poly Pakastani SAG mag in 5.45 in a short while...

The hardest ones I'm looking for right now would be a 30 rd plum/brown poly Pakastani SAG mag in 5.45...20 rd Romy ribbed steel in 7.62...clear plastic 30 rd Russian Izzy slab side in 7.62...various very early 30 rd Russian ribbed steel mags in 7.62 that have variaitions in their ribbing...2 variations of Chicom type 63 20 rdrs in 7.62 (all stamped star and stamped star with a cut out side plate)...
